REDWOOD CITY, California – July 22, 2021 – This year, EA Play Live was not just an event. The pre-conference started with a recap of what EA has done before this summer, as evidenced by the announcement of the expansion pack’s release. The Sims 4 Country Life, now available worldwide. THE RACE TO THE GREAT SHOW
From the start of the main event, announcements followed one after another, starting with the announcement of GRID Legends. The newest episode of the Codemasters racing franchise introduces an in-depth story mode shot in XR and delivered in documentary style, with Ncuti Gatwa from the hit UK Netflix series Sex Education. The game also includes new AI, which makes opponents behave even more like human drivers, new urban races in London and Moscow, a race creator that allows players to design races between multiple car categories, and even more. GRID Legends is coming to Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2022.
A LEGENDARY UPDATE
Respawn then introduced Apex Legends: Emergence, the next major update to the popular first-person shooter. Emergence introduces a brand new legend named Seer, a character specializing in reconnaissance who can stalk and chase enemies, even through walls. The update will also feature Ranked Arenas, the next evolution of the new 3v3 Arenas mode, which will make these high-level battles even more competitive. Speaking of competition, EA also announced that Apex Legends Global Series will return in September for the second year in a row, with its cross-play between the PlayStation, Xbox and PC versions, its Pro League and Challenger Circuit competitions and a base price of five million dollars. Apex Legends: Emergence arrives August 3.
AN INCONVENIENT MEETING
In Lost in Random, the upcoming EA Originals title from Zoink, the award-winning studio behind the game Fe, players will discover a world with gothic and magical accents where every event is determined by chance. Players must combine tactical wit and chance, with the randomness of dice-based combat, using spells, a slingshot, and a living dice named Dicey, while making their way through a series of arenas inspired by board games. Lost in Random will be released on September 10 for consoles and PC on Origin and Steam.
THE MAGIC OF FILMS
The chaotic and hilarious prison ball game Knockout City then unveiled many details about its season 2. Dubbed “Fight at the Movies”, the new movie-themed season offers players a new map, Holowood Drive-In. The new arena features dynamic areas inspired by classic films, from the Cathedral of Horror to the Bridge of Love. Also new for this season are the Soda Balloon (which blinds opponents with sticky syrup), a selection of movie-themed gear, a new season of League Play, aesthetic elements, playlists and much more. . The season releases July 27 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Origin, Steam, and the Epic Games Store (as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S by backward compatibility). A BATTLEFIELD JUST YOURS
Ripple Effect Studios announced the arrival of Battlefield Portal, a brand new community-driven platform that will allow players to discover, create and share unexpected battles. This mode will allow players to choose from fan favorite maps across the games in the franchise.
