During a press conference on Tuesday, September 28, the parents of Gabby Petito, found dead on September 19 in a Wyoming forest, spoke through her attorney with her alleged killer, Brian Laundrie.
The search for Brian Laundrie continues. Volatilized in the wild on September 14, Gabby Petito’s boyfriend, found dead on September 19 in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, continues to play cat and mouse with the police. And if he seems determined to escape punishment, Gabby’s parents, Joseph Petito and Nichole Schmidt, begin to tire of his game. At a press conference held on Tuesday, September 28, they spoke through his lawyer, the maitre d ‘Richard Stafford, who spoke directly to the young fugitive:
“We ask him to surrender, to the FBI or to the closest judicial structure,” Stafford said in front of the cameras. The magistrate stressed the importance of the young suspect’s collaboration, especially since his parents, who were suspected of helping him flee for a time, are currently not helping the police. “The laundries didn’t help us find Gabby. They sure won’t help us find Brian.”
The only suspect in the murder of Gabby Petito
The 23-year-old from Florida is suspected of murdering his 22-year-old girlfriend while crossing the western United States in a caravan. The couple had started their excursion on July 2, but Brian had returned to Florida only on September 1 driving his girlfriend’s truck. Following the discovery of Gabby Petito’s body on September 19 in a Wyoming forest, an autopsy revealed that the influencer was the victim of a homicide. His partner is, to this day, the only suspect in his murder.
