Having conquered everyone from 2011 to 2019, the Game of Thrones series brings a brand new spin-off dedicated to House Targaryen. In addition, this new series called House of the Dragon now offers an exciting trailer.
The Fall of House Targaryen
Like Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon is based on a series of books conceived by acclaimed author George R.R. Martin, but unlike the 2011 series, this spin-off focuses on the history of House Targaryen. Everything takes place two hundred years before the death of Robert Baratheon and the arrival of Daenerys, during the fall of the deacon’s house, which, however, ruled all of Westeros.
This first 10-episode season invites us to develop alongside Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, played by Emma D’Arcy (Truth Seekers). According to the actress, this character “pushes the boundaries of femininity,” but that’s not all. At the same time, we’ll be introduced to Matt Smith’s chilling character (Last Night in Soho, Morbius), namely Damon Targaryen, the golden-haired prince.
Daemon Targaryen is very interesting to explore, he is dark, completely deranged. I’m not disappointed by wearing a blonde wig, riding a dragon, and participating in a few sword fights. He also has a large dragon, which is red and very angry. This is perhaps even the most unmanageable of all. I tell you frankly, he is a real bastard! It is a bit like a pet, it has its own character and energy reserve. Matt Smith, via Sad Happy Confused
Release date and solid cast
In addition to Emma D’Arcy and Matt Smith, House of the Dragon will also be counting on the presence of Paddy Considine (Hot Fluff), who will play the role of King Viserys, as well as Rhys Ifans (The King’s Man: The First Mission). and Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One).
Finally, note that you’ll be able to check out the Game of Thrones spin-off shortly, as House of the Dragon is expected to hit HBO Max starting August 21, 2022. Suffice it to say that it will happen quickly.
