GARD Eight License Holds and Two Arrests on A9 This Weekend – Objectif Gard

For its debut, Alpine, the new high-speed vehicle of the Gard gendarmerie, took part in a major speed control operation on the A9 by the Gallargues motorway peloton on the night of 7 Saturday to Sunday 8 May 2022.

Control operation between Nimes and Montpellier by six gendarmes in their 252-horsepower vehicle resulted in eight driver’s license detentions and two administrative arrests related to numerous offenses including exceeding the speed limit of 50 km/h (179 km/h) with a suspended license ; other speeding over 50 km/h (201 km/h) with the use of drugs; speeding 40 to 50 km/h (187 km/h) with new drug use; speeding from 20 to 30 km/h while using drugs and in the presence of 8 grams of cannabis resin; driving with the use of cocaine, marijuana and alcohol; or even driving under the influence of drugs despite having a suspended license and without insurance.
