GGaide: Local Gaming Industry Benefit Centraide

Through a press release, the Techaide collective announces the holding of GGaide, an event that highlights the philanthropic side of artisans in the Québec video game industry.

In a desire to give back to the community, several studios in the province will join forces on September 30 for this first edition of GGaide. This is a one-day virtual conference with panels of experts and experts, as well as lectures on the future of gaming.

Proceeds will be donated to the Centraide of Greater Montreal organization, which fights poverty and social exclusion by collecting and then investing local funds.

Note that the studio and partner Red Barrels will double the donations, up to $ 7,000.

Inspiring Conversations with Women in the Video Game Industry

Next Lev’Elles, an event created last year by Gameloft Montreal, Ludia Games and Square Enix Montreal to amplify the voice of women in the video game industry, is proud to be associated with GGaide.

Hosted by journalist, analyst, and podcast host Amanda Farough, the Next Lev’Elles 2 conference brings together two presentations. First a speech by Jenny McBean, Director of Research for Bryter’s Annual Gamers Study, then a panel of inspiring women leaders from Montreal’s mobile gaming industry sharing their ideas on creating games for female audiences.

An Expert Panel on the Future of Video Game Technology

GGaide panelists will explore what the gaming industry awaits by discussing hot technology topics such as cloud gaming, user-generated content, and live trading.

Experts from Behavior Interactif, Bethesda, EA, Eidos-Sherbrooke, Frima Studio, Haven Studios, Legion Labs, Square Enix Montreal, Turbulent, Ubisoft Montreal, and Unity Montreal will also share their knowledge to support a good cause.

Featured speakers

GGaide will begin with a talk from Marc Petit, Vice President of Unreal Engine and General Manager of Epic Games. André Gauthier, Studio Director for Unity Montreal, will be the keynote speaker for the afternoon.

Silent auction

GGaide also includes a silent auction that will open on September 21 to raise additional funds for Centraide of Greater Montreal.
