Ghost of Tsushima: Legends becomes standalone game

It is in a statement published on the PlayStation Blog that Sucker Punch announces the news. Ghost of Tsushima: Legends becomes a full-fledged game and will also receive a new game mode from September 3. The studio specifies that despite this passage in standalone, this update will be free for players owning the original game, and will remain uncorrelated from any purchase regarding Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut.

This new mode, called “Rivals”, will pit two teams of two players in competition with waves of enemies on a new map. Each defeated opponent will give the duo points, called “magatama”, which will block purchases of improvements by the rival team. A necessary step to unlock the final wave and hope to triumph before its competitors.

For new players, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will be available on August 20 for € 19.99 on PS4 and PS5. The multiplayer services will work in cross-play between this standalone version and its original version. The content will also be the same, with the exception of a few cosmetic pieces that can only be unlocked in the single player campaign. To celebrate the arrival of Rivals mode, new features will also be added every week until October 1.
