Julian Love/Twitter New York Giants JB Julian Love is unhappy with his appearance in the Madden NFL.
Have the creators of the Madden NFL video game series ever seen New York Giants quarterback Julian Love?
That’s the question some are asking after seeing Love’s post on social media about the popular Electronic Arts (EA) video game series Tuesday night.

“Well… Does anyone know the nearest facial scan location? [crying laughing emoji] @EAMaddenNFL,” Love wrote on Twitter.
The video accompanying the tweet begins with a TV screen showing Love’s profile in the latest game, complete with a 3D animation of the player, who looks nothing like New York’s starting guards. Love then flips the camera over to his expressionless face, proving his point once more.
“What is this?” Love said as she approached her character. The caption on the screen reads: “Go now [face-palm emoji]”
There are about 1,700 active players each week during the NFL season, so it’s understandable that the Madden NFL hosts don’t have an accurate eye for every guy. However, love has been around for a while. He was selected in the fourth round by Notre Dame and is entering his fourth professional season. He appeared in 48 career games (16 starts) and recorded one steal in each of his last three seasons.
Love can complain about a video game, but there’s a pretty simple fix. Raise your game to the level where everyone will know your name and your face. Now that Love is going full-time for the first time in his career, he has a chance to do so in 2022.
The Giants are 2nd in the overall team rankings at Madden.
The creators of Madden NFL clearly underestimate Love and the rest of the Giants, who have an overall team rating of 75 (out of 100). He is tied with the Seattle Seahawks for second in the game, better than the Houston Texans (74).
The best team in the game is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (92). The Dallas Cowboys (86) are tied with the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers for seventh-best teams. Just behind them are the Philadelphia Eagles (85), tied with the Cincinnati Bengals; while the Washington Commanders (81) are tied for 20th with the New England Patriots.
The Giants’ offensive rating (68) ranks last in the NFL. Defensive Rating (74) is a bit better, but New York’s biggest strength seems to be in Special Teams (82) – they are fourth in the game.
Saquon Barkley has the highest overall rating for a Giants player in Madden.
Despite a long slump, running back Saquon Barkley (86) is still the highest ranked Giants player in the Madden NFL. The highest-rated defenseman is Leonard Williams (83). Rookies Keivon Thibodeaux (75) and Evan Neal (77) received decent marks.
Giants starting quarterback Daniel Jones has an overall rating of 70. He ranks 34th among all quarterbacks in the game, tied with Atlanta Falcons rookie Desmond Ridder and Cleveland Browns understudy Jacoby Brissett. Giants backup quarterback Tyrode Taylor is right behind Jones with an overall rating of 69.
The Giants player with the lowest overall rating is Casey Cryter (31).
