God of War and Gran Turismo 7 won’t be PS5 exclusions

Game news God of War and Gran Turismo 7 won’t be PS5 exclusions

Things are racing on the side of Sony, which announces many things via social networks and through an interview with the boss of PlayStation Studios on the PlayStation blog.

Since the September 2020 PS5 Showcase, Sony has maintained a form of ambiguity about the status of his next productions. Exclusive to PS5 or cross-gen games, difficult to navigate. Finally, it is at the turn of the interview on the PlayStation Blog
by Hermen Hulst that clarification was provided. Asked how the PS4 fits into the development strategy and if the machine still has its place, the director of PlayStation Studios said:

Absolutely. You can’t build a community of over 110 million PS4 owners to leave it alone! PS4 fans would be very disappointed, and that wouldn’t be a good business strategy for us.

When the development of a title for both the PS4 and the PS5 will be possible and logical (as will be the case for Horizon: Forbidden West, the next God of War and GT7), we will continue to work on it. If PS4 owners want to play the game in question, it will be possible. If they prefer to experience the adventure on PS5, the game will also be available on this console. That said, it’s also essential to bring flagship and exclusive games to the PS5, like Returnal and Ratchet & Clank.

It was already known that Horizon Forbidden West would be cross-gen, but when it comes to God of War and Gran Turismo 7, both due in 2022, this is a welcome clarification that puts an end to guesswork.
