God of War Ragnarok: Director Wants to Reboot This Iconic Japanese Series

Eric Williams, director of God of War Ragnarok, will take over the franchise from another publisher. An iconic Japanese license that intends to make a comeback.

What if Santa Monica was entrusted with a prestigious Japanese series? It’s the sweet dream of director God of War Ragnarok. But what?

God of War progenitor Ragnarok takes over Japan

“Brought up” in God of War Ragnarok, the game director must now look to the future. But what will happen tomorrow for the developer? He wouldn’t turn down a new GOW game.

I remember talking to someone from a video game company who was trying to get me to leave. He said to me, “Do you want to be known as the God of War guy for the rest of your life? And then I said, was that your main argument to dissuade me? Because yes, that’s what I want.”

But during the clip from Kinda Funny Games, which returned rampantly (and therefore with a dose of spoilers) for God of War Ragnarok, he came up with another much more surprising idea. Eric Williams would love to tackle the iconic Japanese franchise: Castlevania. Eh yes! And he would like a little help in the process.

You can do it because you have an audience from all over the world here… I don’t know what I’m going to do next, but if someone gives us a Castlevania license, we’ll be happy.

This is good because Konami is in the process of reviving their iconic sagas like Silent Hill and is looking for workers. From there, to say that Sony will grant Eric Williams’ wish is a step we won’t go over. However, the team already has all the necessary experience, as the latest Castlevania, Lords of Shadows 1 and 2, were beat’em all in the God of War lineup.
