God of War Ragnarok has sold 11 million copies, which is huge. It is the fastest-selling Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) game in PlayStation history. A resounding success for Santa Monica Studio.
We suspected that it would be a success, but it exceeded all our expectations. According to Sony, God of War Ragnarok, the latest creation from Santa Monica Studio, has sold over 11 million copies in just three months.
The game was released last November and drew crowds. It sold 5.1 million copies in its first week of operation. It’s huge! This makes it the fastest-growing SIE game in PlayStation history.
God of War Ragnarok is on track to break all records
By comparison, God of War 2018 has sold 23 million copies since its release. In just a year, sales reached 10 million. Already impressive numbers that have made it the PlayStation record holder up to this point. Ragnarok is on his way to overtaking him.

God of War is Sony’s win-win. Since the release of the first episode in 2005, 60 million games have been sold. The Japanese manufacturer intends to use such financial luck in the future. We can imagine other games coming later, but not only. Indeed, an Amazon series based on the 2018 title is currently in development on Prime Video. At the moment the details are small, but we can be trusted. With The Last of Us, SIE has proven that it can create quality series based on its games.
Recall that God of War Ragnarok is the fifth part of the adventures of Kratos. An opus mastered from start to finish, dynamic, addictive and with impeccable gameplay. Not the most original game on the market, but it manages to skillfully mix different influences to please as many people as possible: a strategy that pays off, and pays off well.
We are incredibly honored that #GodofWarRagnarok has officially sold 11 million copies!
None of this would have been possible without the support of our fans, so thank you for coming on this journey with us! pic.twitter.com/7KlAT9eddG
