Google Pixel 7: We know more about the performance of its Tensor 2 chip –

The Google Pixel 7 won’t be issued until October 6th. However, they have almost nothing to hide from us, there have been so many leaks about them. Aside from the design, we already know most of their data sheet, including the SoC that will be used.

It has long been known that the next high-end smartphones from the American giant will feature the second-generation Tensor chip. A new leak has just revealed its specs.

Google Tensor 2 doesn’t look revolutionary

Information about the Tensor 2 chip in the Pixel 7 came from developer Cuba Wojciechowski, who discovered it on a Geekbench comparator. A priori, a new chip manufactured by Samsung will not be revolutionary.

Like its predecessor, Tensor 2 will have 8 cores, including 2 Cortex-X1 cores, 2 Cortex-A76 cores, and 4 Cortex-A55 cores. The configuration is exactly the same as on Tensor 1, except for the frequency, which increases to 2.35 GHz for Cortex-A76 cores and 2.85 GHz for Cortex-X1 cores. This small update will improve performance by 10%. Finally, while the first generation Tensor was engraved at 5nm, the Tensor 2 will benefit from being engraved at 4nm.

If Tensor 2 is unattractive at the processor level, perhaps its main trump card lies in the graphics part. The chip will feature the Mali-G710 GPU, which is claimed to be 20% more efficient and power efficient. Machine learning will also be 35% more efficient.
