On the occasion of the Gran Turismo World Series Finals in Monaco, Kazunori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony Digital, was interviewed by GTPlanet. He then revealed that the studio’s development team was “exploring” the possibility of bringing the PlayStation franchise to PC. This is great news for PC gamers who love car racing and realistic simulations. What’s more, Gran Turismo will also get the film rights. This will be led by the Director of District 9.

Gran Turismo has been a PlayStation exclusive for 25 years.

Kazunori Yamauchi has not confirmed a port of Gran Turismo to PC. However, he did not rule out such a possibility. For developers, the main challenge in porting Gran Turismo to other platforms is running the game in native 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. As Kazunori Yamauchi himself admitted, “this is not a very simple topic, but we, of course, study and consider it.”

In any case, the release of Gran Turismo on PC will be a very important turning point in the history of the franchise. The first game was released in 1997 for the PlayStation. For the past 25 years, Gran Turismo has never been released on any platform other than the PlayStation. Even though the port is not official yet, many gamers are waiting to enjoy the auto racing franchise on their PC.

Gran Turismo 7, or any other game in the franchise, could soon complete the list of PlayStation exclusives that will be ported to PC. It has increased significantly in recent years. Popular PlayStation exclusives like Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves and Days Gone are out now on PC. Ported and other games. For example, The Last of Us remake for PC has been confirmed, but we don’t have a release date yet.
