These days, LinkedIn profiles have become a real source of information regarding video game projects that have yet to be announced or have been permanently canceled over the years.
According to what emerges from a recent Wccftech report, by analyzing the profile of Simon Larouche, we can trace two fairly important pieces of information about him. First of all, it would appear that the video game industry veteran, who has worked in the field for over 20 years (among his most important works: Far Cry Instincts, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Watch Dogs 2 and Killzone 2) would return to Guerrilla Games in early 2018 as Game Director for an unannounced game.
This rumor would therefore confirm previous rumors that the Dutch team is working on several projects at the same time. Besides the highly anticipated Horizon Forbidden West, a Horizon Zero Dawn sequel starring Aloy, and a hypothetical open-world MMORPG under development, it seems that software house PlayStation Studios has been working on an unannounced game for three years. .
While dissecting Larouche’s LinkedIn account, we unfortunately couldn’t find any relevant clues, although many players would be rather happy to see a possible rebirth of Killzone on PlayStation 5.
We also found out that before joining Guerrilla Games, Simon Larouche worked for a while for Eidos-Montreal studios, notably on the Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy game.
According to what emerges from the announcement, the developer would have held the role of Online Gameplay Director during this period regarding the game’s multiplayer mode, which apparently was canceled by Square Enix.
Although several rumors have confirmed that the new Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which will be released for consoles and PC on October 26, 2021, could replicate mechanics similar to Marvel’s Avengers, the same Japanese company has repeatedly reaffirmed that the adventure featuring Star Lord scene will be exclusively solo and will not offer DLC or microtransactions.
While waiting to learn more about the story, we advise you to take this information carefully, as at this time there has been no confirmation from the development team and it is about simple speculations.
Finally, we remind you that Horizon Forbidden West will debut exclusively on PlayStation consoles (PS4 and PS5) by the end of 2021, although no official release date has been announced yet.
