Halo Rise, Astro, Echo… New Products Revealed by Amazon

On September 28, 2022, on the occasion of the presentation of its product, Amazon introduced some new features. In particular, a new device for monitoring sleep without human contact was presented. With Halo Rise, Amazon continues its assault on health. The company offers a contactless sleep tracking device. Halo Rise uses a sensor to detect the movements and breathing of the person closest to it. Every morning you can get a data summary with tips on how to achieve more restful sleep.

Halo Rise is also compatible with Alexa and can be used as an alarm. The device can be set to gradually wake up thanks to the light that simulates the sunrise. The device will be released later this year for $140.

Some new items for Astro

Astro, Amazon’s home robot, was introduced last year. On the occasion of the 2022 conference, Amazon details the new features. Designed as a helper and patrol robot, the Astro robot has two wheels and a screen: it can move on its own and detect intruders using its facial recognition tool. Astro can now recognize pets.

Amazon introduced a business version of this robot. The Astro robot, designed for VSE and SME, can monitor the websites of these companies. Guards can use the Astro cameras to monitor what is happening in real time.

Echo Dot has also undergone changes, although in general its design has remained the same: a new speaker has been inserted into the case. Amazon promises more powerful bass and cleaner vocals. Focus on safety with Ring Spotlight Cam Pro and Spotlight Cam Plus

Amazon will not have a security drone or patrol robot this year. On the security front, the company just introduced two new Ring cameras: Spotlight Cam Pro and Spotlight Cam Plus. Both cameras have motion detection technology. Different versions will be sold (depending on the offered battery, type of recharging, etc.) with prices ranging from 200 to 230 euros.

In addition, a panic button called Alarm Panic Button can complement the device. This button, which can be placed or wall-mounted, is designed for emergency situations. When triggered, the Ring Alarm will sound and an alert will be sent to the general users. This button will be on sale next month for 35 euros.

Kindle Scribe, between tablet and e-reader

Amazon has introduced Kindle Scribe, an e-book that you can draw on. The device consists of a 10.2-inch screen on which you can read books, as well as take notes while reading, or simply create lists or other documents. Kindle Scribe comes with a stylus and is more than a “simple” e-book. It is available for pre-order at a price of 370 euros.

Finally, Amazon has introduced a new set-top box (Fire TV Cube) that supports 4K HDR video, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos; remote that works with Alexa, Alexa Voice Remote Pro; new TV series Fire Omni QLED.
