H&M turns to AI with Google — RetailDetail EN

H&M

H&M Group is applying artificial intelligence both in its supply chain and in relation to its customers: Google Cloud is creating an integrated data platform for the fashion giant to optimize the entire supply chain.

The machine knows what’s best

What products are available and where? What is the best price? And how much and when should the supplier deliver? There are so many questions that artificial intelligence (AI) can help answer. AI and machine learning are becoming valuable allies in the retail sector for both supply chain optimization and in-store and offline customer service.

Therefore, the H&M Group is expanding its collaboration with Google and is announcing a strategic partnership with Google Cloud. Google Cloud will develop a global data platform for the fashion industry and help it unleash the power of machine learning and artificial intelligence. Both companies worked together for a while, but now they are expanding their partnership.

Extend your supply chain

“Using advanced artificial intelligence, we will improve H&M supply chains,” Google AI Magazine said. Thanks to the new data network, all types of data and events will be available from various sources, from stores to suppliers. In this way, the company hopes to get an overview of the entire value chain. Then she will be able to make predictions and make decisions based on all these factors.

“Now we are accelerating digitalization even further because we believe in sustainable growth driven by cutting-edge analytics and technology,” said Alan Boehme, CTO of H&M Group. In addition, this collaboration is expected to further develop the data science and artificial intelligence capabilities of the group.
