Harry Potter fans will have to wait at least another year before diving into Hogwarts Legacy, the role-playing and action game developed by Avalanche. Announced at the September 2020 PlayStation event, the game is no longer targeting a 2021 release on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series.
In a letter to the community (see below), Avalanche explains their decision with a desire to make the best game ever. “We give the game the time it needs”, we can read.
The delay reminds us that the current development conditions in times of pandemic cause a lot of concerns for the studios. For Avalanche, this is a first project of this caliber. Although the studio’s portfolio of licensed games is large, Hogwarts Legacy is arguably the largest and most ambitious.
