Steve Blackman, creator of Umbrella Academy, is working on the Horizon Zero Dawn series for Netflix and will tell us more during an interview!

Video game adaptations follow each other, both on the small screen and on the big screen. The Last of Us recently released the first teaser trailer for its broadcast on HBO. But Netflix is keeping up with the future TV production of Horizon Zero Dawn. Today we learn that the creator of The Umbrella Academy, available on the same streaming service, is joining the project!

News from the Horizon Zero Dawn series

Steve Blackman is none other than the creator of The Umbrella Academy series. Netflix tells us today that a man is joining the Horizon Zero Dawn series. The main stakeholder tells us (in very) detail about their motivations below.

In terms of character and world building, there is clear guidance. I’m drawn to mean characters who are cute but live on the fringes of society. Losers struggle to find their place in the world of conformity and structure.

All of my stories aim to shatter expectations and find a new way to experience the worlds we think we know. Horizon Zero Dawn is an exceptionally well-designed game with some great characters that you don’t often see in the virtual universe.

Guerrilla Games has created an incredibly lush world where man and machine collide on their way to oblivion. Their salvation comes in the form of a young warrior named Aloy, who does not know that she is the savior. Suffice it to say yes, she will be the heroine of the story. My writing partner, Michelle Lovretta, and I are thrilled to be able to turn this beautiful license into a series for all viewers.

At the moment, nothing is known about the series, except for its official version. I hope it turns out better than Resident Evil. A season later and a rain of bad reviews, no season 2!
