Big start

Miguel Sapochnik was one of the directors of the series “House of the Dragon” along with Ryan Kondal as well as George R. R. Martin. He directed some of the best episodes of Game of Thrones, including Season 6’s “Bataille Batar”, and his role as showrunner (art producer in French) helped launch the spin-off successfully.

We assure the fans that another experienced person in the person of the director is coming to replace him. Alan Taylor. The latter knows the universe of the series very well, as he worked on several episodes of Game of Thrones in seasons 1, 2 and 7. He will have a dual role director as well as executive producer for this second season, which is why HBO is entrusting its brainchild to reliable and experienced hands.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to have been working in the Game of Thrones universe over the past few years, especially spending the past two years with the incredible cast and crew of House of the Dragon. I am so proud of what we have achieved in the first season and delighted with the enthusiastic reaction of our viewers,” said Miguel Sapochnik.

The latter comes in passing to greet his successor: “I am deeply comforted to hear that Alan will be joining the series. He is someone I have known and respected for a long time and I think this precious series could not have been in better hands.”

“House of the Dragon” is broadcast in France on OCS from August 22 at the rate of one episode per week, and the final season is scheduled for October 23.
