
Nothing makes your computer space more personal than a personalized backdrop. It’s time to remove those boring photo backgrounds and replace them with something unique and inspiring. If you want to spice things up, you’re in luck. We have compiled a step by step guide to add personalized photos to your desktop.

Before you begin, make sure the image you want to use is saved on your computer. Once you have saved it, click on the file search icon. Your files window will open.

Select the file where you saved the image. Once you have found it, you have several options on how to set it as your background. The first is to right-click on the image icon to open the menu.

Select the “Set as desktop background” option at the top of the menu.

Another way to set the desktop background from this location is to left-click on the image in the file and select the “Set as background” option at the top of the file search box.

Another way to change the image and play around with some other settings is to open the settings from the desktop. Right-click on the desktop without any icons and select “View advanced options” from the bottom of the menu.

A new menu will appear. Select “Personalization” at the bottom.

Then open the background settings window.

In the first section there is an option “Select a photo”. Select View Photos.

The photo folder will open automatically, but you can also browse other folders after opening the file finder and find the folder you want by selecting an image and clicking “Select Image” at the bottom. Once the photo appears, if you’d like to change how it’s placed on your display, click the arrow to open the options drop-down menu and select it until it looks the way you want.

Finally, you can also access these settings by selecting the Windows icon in the taskbar and clicking the gear icon to open Settings from the menu.

All system settings options will open. Select “Personalization” on the left side of the menu.

Select “Background” to open this settings menu.

Click Browse Photos and select the photo you want to use as your new background.
