Of all the sales I saw today, the July 4th TV sales were the ones I was most excited about. Why? OLED TVs are dropping in price at an astonishing rate. I wrote about the cheapest OLED TV deal last weekend, and now Samsung’s new OLED TV has just dropped to its lowest price, proving that entry-level and premium OLED TV prices are in free fall.
Right now, you can get the new Samsung S95B 4K 55-inch OLED TV for $1,799 from the Samsung store. (will open in a new tab). It’s $400 off and the lowest price ever.
The Samsung S95B OLED TV doesn’t rank on our list of the best OLED TVs. However, this is because we have yet to do a full review of this TV in our labs. But judging by our Samsung S95B OLED TV, it could be the best OLED TV of 2022.
This TV is a QD-OLED, which basically means that it combines the best elements of a QLED TV with an OLED TV. The result should be a TV that delivers LCD-like brightness while retaining the perfect, inky blacks that we all love so much in OLED TVs. Based on our initial experience, we were really impressed with the TV’s vibrant viewing from multiple angles, with color retention even at 45 degrees.
The Samsung S95B OLED TV runs on an updated version of the Samsung Tizen Smart TV platform. Its Media Screen also acts as a single dashboard for your streaming apps, while the Gaming Hub centralizes your gaming consoles via the cloud so you can get back to gaming right from your TV’s home screen.
It’s worth noting that Prime Day deals are just around the corner. However, I don’t see this TV dropping significantly during Prime Day. (Amazon holidays are likely to focus more on entry-level OLED displays and Amazon’s own Fire TV line.) However, be sure to keep an eye on our OLED TV deals for additional discounts.
