Kodi 20.0 Nexus

“With over 4,600 commits since the release of version 19 of The Matrix on February 19, 2021, this has been a huge effort. Thanks to our team members and everyone in our community who submitted a pull request, tested and provided feedback, or provided support to users on the forum. We appreciate your contribution to improving Kodi. Kodi 20.0 “Nexus” is being promoted through the usual channels right now, both on our own download pages and various app stores/repositories, so it should be coming to your devices soon. It’s worth noting that for the first time in a long time, we’ve removed all known blockers, so all supported platforms will be updated as soon as the various app stores handle something.”

Multiple instances of binary addons

“This allows Kodi to download multiple instances of the binary addon. For example: TVHeadend users can now run more than one instance of the addon to connect to multiple TVHeadend backend servers, with individual settings such as channel groups and hidden channels saved per addon instance. @AlwinEsch was the developer of many of these with support from @ksooo. Your favorite binary addon may not yet support this feature, but we hope that addon developers will soon introduce it into their projects.

HDR support for Windows

“@thexai has implemented full HDR support for the Windows Desktop platform along with many improvements across the entire Windows video pipeline (DXVA/2). HDR is not available on nondesktop versions i.e. UWP Store (Xbox) versions. ACES Filmic and HABLE tonemapping enhancements make even SDR videos look better, and these features are implemented for both UWP and desktop versions of Kodi.”
