Lagarde: cryptocurrencies have no value – InfoMaroc

The president of the European Central Bank (ECB), Christine Lagarde, has split cryptocurrencies into pieces, on the other hand, she supports Euronumeric.

The head of the European Central Bank took advantage of her attendance at the Bank for International Settlements Innovation Summit to share her concerns about cryptocurrencies. She speaks, she says, on behalf of central banks around the world, calling cryptocurrencies a “threat.” Digital assets facilitate money laundering and other financial crimes.

Lagarde believes that cryptocurrencies need to be regulated because people who “do not understand the risks and lose everything will be terribly disappointed.” However, the President of the ECB assures that the digital euro should be launched by 2024.

Like banknotes, the digital euro remains sovereign money, backed by a guarantee signed by the ECB. This is the strongest guarantee. According to Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, a digital euro, which will allow users to carry out a wide range of transactions, is on the way.
