Mohammed El Guerrouj, governor of El Jadida province, has been appointed acting director general of the National Agency for the Regulation of Legal Cannabis Activities.

The decision of the head of government is dated September 29, 2022 in connection with the application of Law 13.21 on the legal use of cannabis.

The long-awaited appointment of a director for this agency unlocks activity in a sector that has been on hold since the first board meeting last June.

The legal system was supplemented by the publication in the Official Gazette of six regulations defining the application procedures and conditions for obtaining the necessary permits for cannabis-related activities. These permits will be issued by the National Agency, which cannot operate without instructions.
