Back during the Nintendo Direct in February, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe garnered a lot of attention with the announcement of 48 race tracks, both new and old, coming to the racing game by 2023. 48! This is madness. The first wave fell in March along with the 2.0 update. Wave 2 is just around the corner and promises tracks like Turnip and Propeller Cups next month.
So we get familiar courses for multiple consoles, including Super NES games, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS, Wii, and Mario Kart Tour. It’s pretty sweet. All courses can be played locally or online starting August 4th.
Here are some details about each cup thanks to a recent press release:
Tour New York Minute. Speed past towering skyscrapers and enjoy a scenic drive through the park on this Big Appleinspired route inspired by the mobile game Mario Kart Tour.
SNES Mario Circuit 3. Make your way through tight turns and avoid warp tubes in this classic course inspired by Super Mario Kart on the Super NES.
N64 Kalimari Desert. In this race through the desert, there are often skirmishes with an oldfashioned engine that crosses the track – be careful not to cause delays!
DS Waluigi Pinball – Run, jump and weave through this giant pinball tablethemed field with bright lights and sounds. Just try not to bend over!
Tour Sydney Sprint: Soak up the sunshine as you soar over the bay and tour the sights on this course that originated from the Mario Kart Tour.
GBA Snow Land – Try not to slip on this winter track from Mario Kart: Super Circuit. Just remember: the more coldblooded will prevail.
Mushroom Gorge Wii – This course features an underground cave, deep chasms, and giant mushrooms to jump from – make sure you land safely!
Sky High Sundae. The competition can heat up, but that doesn’t mean you can’t relax in this sweet race filled with amazing desserts at almost every turn. Prove that you are number one under the sun with this debut course!
