This week, Micron Technology announced that its 9400 series NVMe SSD storage solutions have entered mass production and are available worldwide from partners. According to Micron, Micron 9400 storage has been purposebuilt for the most demanding data center workloads, especially for artificial intelligence (AI) training, machine learning (ML) and high performance computing (HPC).
The Micron 9400’s industryleading 30TB SSD capacity is double the maximum capacity of previous generation Micron NVMe SSDs. A standard tworack 24bay Micron 9400 SSD server with a capacity of 30.72 TB provides a total of 737 TB of storage per server. By doubling the capacity of an SSD, Micron allows businesses to store the same amount of data on half as many servers.
