MLB The Show 21: an unexpected home run in Xbox Game Pass

Upon launch, MLB The Show 21 from Sony Interactive Entertainment will join Microsoft’s paid subscription service for Xbox consoles.

Forced to make its multiplatform exclusive so as not to lose the license that has been produced for years by SIE San Diego Studio, the Japanese publisher Sony also accepted that MLB The Show 21 integrates the Xbox Game Pass as soon as it is released against probably a big check from its great rival Microsoft. A decision not really surprising from a commercial point of view, but which did not really please PlayStation fans who are now asking for a nice compensation like the arrival of the game in the PlayStation Plus so as not to feel aggrieved. For some, we are not far from a betrayal of great importance that tarnishes the reputation of the brand, especially if there is no positive reaction within the next few days.

If Phil Spencer, big boss of video games at the Redmond firm, has let it be known that he was delighted to welcome MLB The Show 21 on Xbox consoles, it is Jamie Leece, vice president in charge of games and of VR at MLB Advanced Media, which was responsible for announcing the game’s arrival in XGP: “In addition to releasing April 20 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One, as well as Android phones and tablets via Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) for Ultimate members, we’re excited to announce that MLB The Show 21 arrives on Xbox Game Pass on day one. Standard editions of MLB The Show 21 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One will be included with Xbox Game Pass so members can play the best version of the game no matter what console they’re on. And with cross-platform play and progression, you can play against other people online, and earn and use content on whatever platform and generation you choose.
