Nearly 2 million euros worth of cannabis seized in Moselle

Big success. An extensive drug trafficking network has been dismantled in Moselle, according to Actu.fr and France Bleu Lorraine Nord. Five people were detained and several kilograms of marijuana were seized, the prosecutor of Metz said on social networks on Tuesday, May 10. These individuals are suspected of being involved in large-scale drug trafficking between the Moselle and Spain.

“Elimination of drug trafficking in Moselle. The research department of Metz, with the support of the Montpellier Socialist-Revolutionaries and the Moselle gendarmes, arrested 5 people in connection with drug trafficking,” the prosecutor said on Twitter.

Apparently, the drug was imported from Spain and passed through the Moselle, where it was packaged for resale. “We have seized 228 kg of cannabis with an estimated resale value of around 2 million euros,” the Metz prosecutor said. The prosecution stated that the five detainees had been charged and taken into custody.

The Swiss police also carried out a major confiscation on 5 May. More than 500 kg of cocaine were indeed found in a shipment of coffee beans delivered to the Nespresso factory located in Romon, Canton of Friborg. Employees at a facility owned by giant Nestlé “discovered an unidentified white substance while unloading bags of freshly delivered coffee beans,” local police said. The drugs found came from Brazil.
