New electric Porsche Macan to be built on PPE platform

Porsche has confirmed that the first car to be built on their new PPE (Premium Platform Electric) platform will be the electric Porsche Macan.

The PPE platform was developed between Porsche and Audi and Porsche will use it in the future for its new electric vehicles.

The first PPEbased Porsche will be the allelectric Macan. With its 800volt architecture, powerful latestgeneration electric motor and stateoftheart battery and charging management, this model offers Porschespecific EPerformance. The successor to the successful compact SUV will be the sportiest model in its segment. Along with reproducible bestinclass performance, design goals include long range capability and high performance fast charging.

For the best options, the engineers create a dynamic sporty driving style with a fully adjustable electronically controlled rear differential and the socalled Performance Rear Axle. Added to this is a powerful electric motor located behind the rear axle. This allows the use of allwheel drive vehicles with a predominant rear location in a wide range. Combined with the dynamic torque distribution of the allwheel drive system, this also ensures high agility when accelerating out of corners.

We look forward to learning more details about the new electric Porsche Macan. You can find out more information about Porsche’s plans for its electric vehicles at the link below.
