This week, NVIDIA announced the worldwide availability of its new NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB priced at $599, designed to deliver unrivaled performance and efficiency in a small form factor. The NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX Development Kit is ideal for developing lowpowered robots, drones, handheld devices, and autonomous machines for a wide range of manufacturing applications in retail, agriculture, healthcare, and life sciences, explains NVIDIA.
“This is Jetson’s smallest form factor, delivering up to 100 TOPS of AI performance with power configurable from 10W to 25W. It gives developers 3x the performance of the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Xavier and 5x the performance of the NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX. ”

In tests, the Jetson Orin NX shows a 2.1x performance improvement over the Jetson Xavier NX. With future software optimizations, this value is expected to get closer to 3.1x for dense tests. Other Jetson devices have improved performance by 1.5x since the release of their first supporting software, and the same is expected for the Jetson Orin NX 16GB. Jetson Orin NX also supports sparseness for even better performance. With sparsity, you can take advantage of finegrained structured sparsity in deep learning networks to increase the throughput of Tensor Core operations.
SystemonModule supports multiple AI application pipelines with NVIDIA Ampere GPU architecture, nextgeneration deep learning and machine vision accelerators, highspeed I/O, and high memory bandwidth. You will be able to develop solutions using your largest and most complex AI models in natural language understanding, 3D perception and multisensor fusion.
All Jetson Orin modules run on the standard NVIDIA AI software stack. With an ecosystem of services and products, your path to market has never been faster. NVIDIA JetPack 5.1, also released today, supports Orin NX 16GB and the latest CUDAX stack on Jetson Orin. In addition, the Jetson partner ecosystem supports a wide range of carrier boards and peripherals for the Jetson Orin NX 16GB module, such as sensors, cameras, connectivity modules (5G, 4G, WiFi), and more. “
