New Pokemon Snap scheduled for April 30

This year marks the 25e anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. In a press release, The Pokemon Company announced that the game New Pokemon Snap, announced last June in the wake of virtual E3, will be distributed on Switch from April 30, 2021.

In this new adventure, budding photographers will be immersed in the Lental region. The latter includes several ecosystems, including a lush jungle and a desert, all populated by many free-roaming Pokémon. With the help of the Professor Mirror and his assistant Rita, it will be a question of immortalizing the creatures in their natural habitat.

In New Pokemon Snap, like the game released on Nintendo 64 in 1999, it will be possible to discover Pokémon hidden in their environment or to bait them with a special fruit, the Fluffruit. This same fruit can also be used to provoke special situations, as some Pokémon react in a special way to the sight of this treat.

The Professor Mirror will evaluate your photos according to several criteria, including the pose of your subject, the focus, the framing and the chosen angle. As you fill your Photodex, new opportunities will open up for you aboard NEO-ONE, the automated means of transportation that will guide you through the Lental region.
