New Porsche 99X Electric Gen3 debuts at Forum E this weekend

The new Porsche 99X Electric Gen3 will make its Formula E debut this weekend at the first round at the Circuit Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City.

The car completed its testing back in December and will now take part in its first Formula E race on Saturday 14th January.

At the start of the new season, the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E team returns to its place of greatest success. Last year, the team achieved a brilliant onetwo result on the challenging Grand Prix circuit, part of which passes through the legendary Foro Sol baseball stadium. Pascal Wehrlein (Germany), who took pole position and Porsche’s first Formula E victory at this stage, returns this season in the #94 Porsche 99X Electric Gen3. His new teammate António Felix da Costa (Portugal), Formula Champion E of the 2019/2020 season, will take part in his first race with a sports car manufacturer in the #13 car.

A total of four Porsche 99X Electric Gen3s will line up on the starting grid at the Hermanos Rodriguez Circuit. Two Weissachdesigned electric racing cars are fielded by the factory TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team, while the remaining two are fielded by the Avalanche Andretti team, who are determined to fight for victories and titles as Porsche’s first customer team. Founded by motorsports icon Michael Andretti, the regular drivers for the American team are Jake Dennis (Great Britain) and Andre Lotterer (Germany).
