Nintendo: in the UK, there were as many Switches sold as there were PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S combined

In two short months, the Switch of Nintendo will celebrate its four years, time definitely flies very quickly. The Japanese portable home console has not seen any price reduction, even though the manufacturer has offered a Lite version since September 2019. Despite this, it flows like hot cakes.

Christopher Dring, director of GamesIndustry.biz, unveiled this week thatin the UK, in 2020, as many Nintendo Switch sold as there were PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PS5 and Xbox Series X and S cumulative. No figure is revealed, too bad, but the information is ultimately not so surprising. The Switch is an almost essential console, and gamers obviously didn’t jump on the PS4 and Xbox One as the new generation arrived. And the new consoles have struggled to climb to the top of sales because of very limited stocks at launch, it is still impossible to find PS5 or Xbox Series X at resellers today.

Anyway, the Switch of Nintendo a hit across the Channel, and throughout the world, the Lite version with the game Animal Crossing: New Horizons and three months subscription to Nintendo Switch Online is € 219.99 on Amazon.
