Entangled in a very serious economic crisis caused by the pandemic, North Korea has continued down the path of state digital cybercrime to finance its nuclear program. He stole $400 million in crypto (Ether, bitcoin…) during 7 attacks and hacks last year, according to data from Chainalysis. In particular, she was the instigator of the hack of the Liquid.com platform in August ($91 million).

In 5 years, Pyongyang has stolen about 1.5 billion dollars during some fifty “heists” in the global crypto markets. These “attacks primarily targeted cryptocurrency exchanges and financial firms. Most were probably carried out by the Lazare group (Editor’s note: a notorious pirate-for-hire group from Pyongyang),” the report states.
