According to CIUSSSde la Capitale-Nationale, NotifVAX has been downloaded 1,200 times and only 171 people have received the vaccine with it. This accounts for 14% of app owners.
Some users would not receive offers of vaccinations, while the app launched ten days ago should make it easier to quickly access 4,500 doses.
Users who say they had no suggestions should check their profile for compliance., emphasizes the representative CIUSSS from Capitale-Nationale, Mathieu Boivin.
Youth is targeting
The launch of NotifVAX was aimed at encouraging immediate vaccine adherents to get vaccinated.
The app allows you to receive free notifications when doses are available nearby. They can be used for both the first and second dose.
Notifications are sent based on canceled appointments, remaining doses at the end of the day, decreased attendance, and vaccine availability at vaccination centers or on board the Vaccin-O-Bus.
NotifVAX app does not support geolocation or phone number detection. It allows the user to enter their age group, the type of vaccine they want, and their preferred vaccination sites in Capitale-Nationale.
Only one person can be registered on one mobile device at a time. When a person receives a notification, they will have two to five minutes to accept or decline the appointment.
Always least vaccinated
When the initiative was launched in Capitale-Nationale, 3,000 people between the ages of 18 and 29 still needed vaccinations to reach the goal of 75% of people vaccinated with the first dose.
More young people are currently vaccinated, but in the Capitale-Nationale region, young people aged 18–29 are the least vaccinated. This is the only age group still below the 75% mark.
As of Wednesday, this segment of the population still lacked 2,029 people to be vaccinated to meet the public health target.
