One night free for two paid. It was on this very simple promise that tourism professionals Adrienne de La Tour and Gilles Dufour launched Off&away at the beginning of the year. However, this discount is valid only on weekends, from Friday evening to Monday morning, and also outside the high tourist season. All hotels offered on the site are independent four or five stars, that is, today there are about sixty of them: Château Brachet in Aix-les-Bains, Château de Saulon in Dijon, Maison Pavlov in Bordeaux or Villa Arthus-Bertrand in Noirmoutier.
“Long weekends allow you to have two real days and leave on Monday without traffic and exorbitant train prices,” explains co-founder Gilles Dufour, former head of Onefinestay, the luxury version of Airbnb acquired by Accor. Hotel owners, which often struggle to fill up on Sunday evenings, have been seduced by the concept. Off&away, which charges a commission of 15% of the transaction amount, already intends to enter the market in Portugal, Spain, Italy and Switzerland.
