The Finnish firm ends the year 2020 with the Nokia 5.4 which comes to compete with the many references of Xiaomi, realme and Oppo. Eccentric on the outside, sober on the inside, HMD’s new terminal goes straight to the point.
Features of Nokia 5.4
The Nokia 5.4 sports a 6.39-inch punched HD + screen. To get into the nails, HMD has integrated an LCD panel rather than an OLED panel. The refresh rate is stuck at 60Hz.
Like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, POCO M3, and Motorola Moto G9 Power, the Nokia 5.4 relies on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC. It shouldn’t have any problems performing all of your daily tasks. We imagine that it will be necessary to limit multitasking and adjust the graphics options of the most greedy games in order to maintain a constant framerate. The device is running Android 10 but the update to Android 11 will be available in the first quarter of 2021.
Four photo sensors coexist in a circular block. The manufacturer has chosen to combine a 48-megapixel wide-angle with a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle, a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel macro. Up front, it’s a 16-megapixel wide-angle lens that’s responsible for taking your portrait. Among the features available, we note the presence of a portrait mode and a night mode as well as the possibility of customizing the watermark.
On the video side, the brand indicates that it is possible to film in 60fps and that its smartphone has a noise cancellation function.
Finally, the 5.4 is equipped with a 4000 mAh battery. The manufacturer promises two days of autonomy.
Price and release date
Nokia 5.4 will be released in mid-January at a price of € 219.90 in the 4 + 64 GB config and € 249.90 in the 6 + 128 GB config. Two colors to choose from: Polar Night (Blue) and Dusk (Purple).
Do we like it or not?
It is with a very classic technical sheet that the Nokia 5.4 will try to find a place in the ultra-competitive entry-level market. It can nevertheless stand out thanks to its original and colorful design. We also expect good performance in terms of autonomy from him.
