The countdown is on to Christopher Nolan’s next film. Here’s the first trailer for Oppenheimer, The Dark Knight & Tenet, a biopic about the man who developed the first atomic bomb. The theatrical release is scheduled for July 19, 2023 in France.

In this trailer, we’ll meet Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist who led the Manhattan Project to build a bomb for the United States during World War II. Against the backdrop of the image of the flame, you can hear several voices reminiscent of Oppenheimer: “The most important person who ever lived,” “the man who moved the Earth.” Another voice asks, “How can a man who has seen so much be so blind?” »

Impressive cast

Cast: Florence Pugh, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Josh Hartnett, Kenneth Branagh, Gary Oldman, Rami Malek, Olivia Thirlby, Dane DeHaan, Jason Clarke, David Dastmalchian, Alden Ehrenreich Casey Affleck, James Remar and Tom Conti as Albert Einstein.

Cillian Murphy previously worked with Christopher Nolan on Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, as well as Inception and Dunkirk. The actor recently starred in A Quiet Place 2 and the final season of Peaky Blinders, which will be followed by a movie in 2023.

Oppenheimer is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Byrd and Martin J. Sherwin. The film is being distributed by Universal Pictures following a longtime relationship between Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. appeared to have been torpedoed when the studio aired its film “Tenet” on the HBO Max streaming service.
