Overwatch 2 won’t get rights to new betas until release

To prepare for the release of Overwatch 2, Blizzard has made the open beta available to players between June and July. Now that it’s all over, the developers will be able to make adjustments and there won’t be a new beta.

This information was confirmed by Vice President of Blizzard John Spector. He recalled that there were only two months left before the release of Overwatch 2, and said that he was aware that players were asking for a third public beta. However, it is not.

While we continue to test OW2 internally on a daily basis, we are not planning any additional public beta testing.

With all the valuable feedback we’ve received during our public alpha and beta testing, we’ll be focusing our efforts on launching the best game possible on October 4th.

We already had a rebalance of some heroes in early July, and we already know for sure that other changes will be made in the coming weeks. Overwatch 2 will be available for free on October 4 as part of Early Access on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
