For UK players, the exact date will be May 19 at 1:00 AM (BST) and 6:00 PM (MDT) in North America one day earlier.

Path of Exile: Sentinel will release on consoles on May 18, 2022 at 19:00 (CDT) and will also be on hiatus from 16:00 (CDT). The exact time will be converted and displayed in your local time.

Grinding Gear has confirmed that the May expansion contains the Sentinel challenge league, 20 atlas passive skills, seven super boss battles, new unique pinnacle items, updated monster modifiers, gamepad support, new quality of life features, and an updated challenge system. Players will collect newly discovered Guardians that will follow you for a short time and power up your enemies, greatly increasing their difficulty and rewards.

A variety of Guardians will be available to discover, including Pathfinder Guardians, which buff a moderate amount of enemies in the order you encounter them, Pandemonium Guardians, which buff a large number of monsters at once and in a quick burst, and Apex Guardians. Apex models only grant powers to rare or unique enemies, but have a very powerful effect.

A post from Grinding Gear goes into more detail on how they can be upgraded and tells fans, “The Sentinel controller is like a runic circuit board that powers your Guardians and allows you to customize their behavior. Initially, it provides enough power to use one Guardian per area, but as you progress, it will build up enough power to support three.

“You will place threads on the controller to indicate the runic knots through which its energy flows. You can freely move the threads at any time. As you receive energy, it automatically flows to the next nodes you connect. Use this controller to set a specific behavior for your Sentinel gear that works well with your desired build. »
