Persona 5 Strikers takes place a few months after the events of Persona 5. So, may our brave heroes decide to take a well-deserved vacation, they are thrown back into the Metaverse. An appetizer, certainly classic, but which is nonetheless the ideal starting point for this adventure where action and emotion are the key words. Always ready to defend freedom, the Phantom Thieves will face hordes of creatures, each more surprising than the next, and often with formidable power, to free the Tokyoites from the mental jails that hold them back.
The best of action and role-playing
If so far Persona 5 was synonymous with turn-based role-playing, Strikers proves that the license is just as comfortable with the action! This time, you will control your team in real time in battles as intense as they are spectacular. Each of the multiple prisons, which are the equivalent of the Palaces of Persona 5, is guarded by dozens if not hundreds of enemies. Fortunately, you can count on the special abilities of your team members to survive these relentless onslaughts. While sweeping dozens of infantrymen is particularly satisfying, you will feel the full richness of Personna 5 Strikers against the most devious enemies. Whether they are “simple” named creatures, mini-bosses and, even more, real bosses, you will need to show agility and quick-wittedness to exploit their weaknesses and overcome them with to the power of good Persona.
True to previous episodes, Persona 5 Strikers puts the Persona at the heart of its combat system. By offering special abilities to their owners, these spirits allow them to heal teammates, lower enemy defense or increase an ally’s attack power. Of course, these are only the most obvious examples. Persona 5 Strikers will amaze you with the originality and inventiveness of the dozens of Persona available. But do not fear too chaotic action since to make the most of the Persona’s abilities, the game will be paused. An ideal action which will also require you a true tactical sense to emerge victorious, in particular against the most powerful enemies.
Although the clashes are of a high quality, Persona 5 Strikers does not rely solely on frenzied action to immerse you in its special world. The scenario is full of finds and the relationships between the different characters hold a prominent place. Between each mission, the Phantom Thieves meet at “Café Leblanc”. They chat there, equip themselves with freshly purchased potions or equipment and acquire new abilities, thanks to experience points, but also according to their relationships with other team members. The closer the bonds between our heroes, the greater their effectiveness as a group. An essential criterion when choosing the three teammates who accompany Joker, the main character, on a mission. Enough to ensure variety and flawless replayability Persona 5 Strikers.
