Good plan for video game lovers! While the PlayStation 5 is almost nowhere to be found due to running out of stock long ago, two Sony consoles will go on sale in the coming weeks. They will be put up for auction by the Drouot house on October 4 from 13:30 to 17:00 at the Palais des Bourses in Lyon (Rhone), reports RTL.
These PS5s were seized by the courts and put up for sale by the Agency for the Management and Recovery of Seized and Forfeited Assets (AGRASC). In a press release, the Justice Department warns that profits from the sale are intended to be “used to compensate victims or fund actions of general interest”; quoting our colleagues.
From 400 to 450 euros
The first console corresponding to 31 lots of the sale will be sold with a DualSense controller in the box. The starting price was set at 400 euros. The second, lot 32, will come with two controllers, a hard drive, and six video games, including Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Resident Evil Village. This time the starting price is 450 euros.
Buyers will be able to follow the sale remotely. You can also register now by connecting to the Maison Drouot website.
Other lots for sale
In addition, the Agency for the Management and Recovery of Seized and Forfeited Assets (AGRASC) is planning a second sale. It will take place in Marseille on 5 October.
In total, about 200 items will be purchased during these two sales: prestigious cars such as Chevrolet Corvettes, Ferrari, Jaguar, Porsche, as well as jewelry, gold coins, diamonds, luxury watches, leather goods, paintings; lists the General Directorate of Public Finance in a press release.
