PlayStation Now: Hey, Hey, the streaming service will finally offer 1080p

Although it offers a beautiful catalog of PS2, PS3 and PS4 games, the Playstation now is not recognized for its performance or technical qualities. The service available since 2014 allows you to play streaming titles of all kinds, from a PS4, a PC and now a PS5, or even directly install your PlayStation 4 games on your console to play without connection worries.

And despite its longevity and the strong competition in the cloud gaming, the service was only available in 720p… The resolution seems dated at the time of 4K, but that’s what offers Sony Interactive Entertainment, with obviously a upscaling automatic on compatible screens. We are in 2021 and, good news, the Playstation now will finally go to 1080p ! The service will be updated in France, the rest of Europe, North America and Japan, wherever it is available, from this week and gradually during the following.

The announcement is summary and does not say more about the technical modalities of this evolution, but there is perhaps nothing more to emphasize than this advance in terms of resolution. You can subscribe to PS Now for € 9.99 per month, € 24.99 per quarter or € 59.99 per year.
