PlayStation Stars is completely free and will allow players to earn rewards.
Sony has announced the creation of a free loyalty program for fans called PlayStation Stars. It will offer rewards, including credits for the PS Store Wallet or games. To receive these rewards, you will need to participate in campaigns and play certain games. The launch is expected at the end of this year.
Challenges for all types of players
The announcement of PlayStation Stars was made on the PlayStation Blog by Grace Chen, an executive at the company. According to her, you can get an award just by playing any game, of course, more difficult tests will be available. The most diligent players will have to: win tournaments, win certain trophies or finish the game 100%. PS Stars will be available worldwide, not just in the US.
PS Stars will also give you the opportunity to earn loyalty points. These points can be redeemed for PSN Wallet credits or certain PS Store products. As an added benefit, PS Plus subscribers who sign up for PS Stars automatically earn points on their PS Store purchases. It’s all a bit like what Nintendo and Microsoft offer, where you can earn points by playing and completing missions. You can also exchange points for various items and goodies from competitors.
Grace Chen spoke about the presence of digital collectibles in the PS Stars program. However, they should not be confused with NFTs. Sony was quick to dismiss the comparison. Accuracy is important as it is something that many players struggle with.
