After Microsoft announced its $70 billion acquisition of Activision, Comic Books revealed that Xbox would keep Call of Duty on the PlayStation after the acquisition was officially completed. This was confirmed to the PlayStation Universe by Microsoft’s head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, who clarified that upcoming Call of Duty games will not rule out PlayStation players.

After the acquisition was announced, many feared that Call of Duty would follow in the footsteps of Halo and become an Xbox exclusive.

On the contrary, Spencer said that Microsoft wants to respect PlayStation’s existing marketing ties for Call of Duty and other arrangements. However, others felt that these words were not convincing enough to rule out the prospect of Call of Duty becoming an Xbox exclusive soon enough.

Additionally, in a blog post, he said that given the success of Minecraft on other platforms, releasing Call of Duty titles on PlayStation and Xbox at the same time could be beneficial.

PlayStation expressed some uncertainty about the Activision acquisition of Xbox, highlighting the importance of Call of Duty. However, the founder of the rival platform believes the deal could encourage gamers to play Call of Duty on Xbox.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the next installment in the Call of Duty series, is due out October 29, 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.

Microsoft launches tool for Windows 11 that manages Xbox subscriptions

In line with the report that Xbox kept Call of Duty after Microsoft ended its deal with Activision, the company also said it is testing a feature in Windows 11 that allows you to manage your Xbox subscriptions from the Settings menu. Game Empress reported that in a blog post, Microsoft announced the launch and said the rollout had begun.

Those with access to this feature can use their console settings to check the status of their Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, Xbox Game Pass, or Xbox Live Gold subscriptions.

With this feature, users will be able to see the many benefits and add-ons provided by their current Xbox subscription, in addition to the Xbox payment schedule they are currently subject to.

Customers can also use the Xbox subscription management interface to change or modify their Xbox subscription plan, redeem gift card tokens, and track subscription activity, Microsoft said.

In addition, they can also find a comparable set of tools and information on the Microsoft 365 subscription administration portal. With the new Xbox feature, they don’t have to get off the couch or open a web browser to sign up for a Microsoft account. or change your subscription.

The announcement comes just over a month after Microsoft told Windows insiders that the company is experimenting with an Xbox Game Pass widget.

The feature, which is being tested in Ireland and Colombia, allows users to share content with up to four friends or family members. Members of Xbox Friends & Family can access all the features of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Along with a collection of titles that is constantly updated with new entries, these features also include media streaming via the cloud.
