The decision of the new Twitter boss on November 20 to reactivate Donald Trump’s account, which has been suspended since January 2021, is very symbolic. While the billionaire head of Tesla and SpaceX is not the first to meddle in American politics, he has multiplied geopolitical initiatives in recent weeks. Elon Musk, for example, tweeted “his” decision to end the war in Ukraine and made available his Starlink satellite network to facilitate Internet access in certain areas of the country. With respect to Taiwan, he proposed the creation of a “special administrative zone”.
Can this influence international conflicts? Is there a political background to his stranglehold on Twitter? In this episode of the L’Heure du Monde podcast, Pixels du Monde journalist Damien Lelup details the billionaire’s influence.
