In a press release, The Pokémon Company announced the arrival of Pokémon TCG Live, an application for its trading card game. Offered in a free-to-play (F2P) formula, this experience brings the pleasure of battling your favorite cards from the Pokémon universe for the first time on smartphones.
The announcement comes as The Pokémon Company celebrates 25 years of the Pokémon card game, the first edition of which was released in 1996.
“As we look back on 25 wonderful years of Pokémon, we remember once again how the Pokémon Trading Card Game has always been a solid mainstay of the franchise and is loved by trainers, young and old,” he said. President of the Pokémon Card Game at The Pokémon Company International. “Pokémon TCG Live will go hand in hand with the tabletop version fans know and love, and will usher in a new era of digital gaming where coaches from around the world can play together on any platform they prefer.”
Described as easy to tackle for beginners, but full of challenges for experienced players, the Pokémon TCG Live app will allow you to build your decks and compete against other trainers from around the world. It will also be possible to modify your avatar with unique accessories and, for example, complete daily missions to obtain rewards. We have already been promised more updates to keep the app relevant and attractive over time.
The Pokémon TCG Live app will be launching soon to Android and iOS devices, as well as Mac and PC computers. The content will be offered in seven languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. A trial version will be available soon in Canada.
