“Cars need a face and a story. And Pixar’s animated film Cars did just that impressively: bringing cars to life on the big screen,” says Dr. Sebastian Rudolf, Vice President Communications, Sustainability and Policy at Porsche AG. “The story conveys values such as friendship, love and mutual support, and at the center of it all is Porsche: “Sally Carrera”. Together with Pixar, we have reimagined the spirit of Sally not on the screen, but off it. With this onestopstreet 911 legal service, Sally Special, which we’re auctioning off for charity, we want to help people in urgent need of support, which is in keeping with the spirit of the film’s character.”

The project began in November 2021 and brought together members of the original Cars team that brought the movie character and Sally Carrera to life over 20 years ago. The team included Jay Ward, creative director of the Pixar Animation Studios franchise, and Bob Pauley, production designer who first drew Sally Carrera for Cars. They were assisted by members of the Sonderwunsch team from the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur in Stuttgart and the Style Porsche designers in Weissach. The team worked together for ten months – the result was a unique factory copy in a single copy.
