PS Plus Essential – what to expect in September?

Regulated like clockwork, whoever hides behind the nickname Billbil-kun has once again come to post the PS Plus Essential program for September on the Deallabs website. If at this stage we still have to treat this information as a rumor, and this is before Sony’s confirmation, not once has Billbil-kun’s information been debunked… So here are the games that PS Plus subscribers in the Essential markets and above will be able to download this month back to school:

  • Thirst for Speed Heat (PS4)

It’s the “big” game of the month (and we agree it’s not very impressive…). Need For Speed Heat had a tough mission to bring the NFS license back into the spotlight, backed up by features like day/night cycle, dynamic weather, and a cop-thief scenario… Despite a few hiccups, the game convinced us when it was released, as you can read again in our test…

  • Granblue Fantasy: Vs (PS4)

The mobile gaming universe of Granblue Fantasy has been entrusted to Arc System Works to do what the studio does best: fight against fighting games. The result: a game that once again convinced us when it was released, standing out from the crowd, thanks in particular to the RPG mode that will allow you to enjoy the game even alone.

Remember, a few months ago, video games were caught up in a fun fashion: photography became the centerpiece of the gameplay. We think of Pokémon Snap, The Good Life, A Wildlife Adventure, Beasts of Maravilla Island, and even Lost Judgment, a Yakuza spin-off that offered photo-based missions… TOEM, the PS5 Game of the Month, belongs to this somewhat distinct genre.

Overall, not a bad draw, but this month still lacks a leader with big losses. We see that Sony has ended the seductive operation of starting a new PS Plus formula and is returning to more routine offerings … And, like every month, we are waiting to see if the top tier catalogs (Extra and Premium) will evolve them too a little during the month ?
