Game news PS5: The games to watch for the month of May 2021
After a month of April marked by the arrival of Returnal, the PlayStation 5 offers us a month without much exclusivity. But don’t worry! You will still have enough to wait until June 11, the release date of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, since the Sony console will host five major productions in the coming days, starting with Resident Evil Village and Mass Effect: Legendary. Editing.
Let’s kick off the month of May with Wreckfest! Yes, the racing game from the creators of FlatOut first and second of the name will heat the engines on PlayStation 5 with a new version edited for the occasion. The latter will take advantage of the power of the next-gen and will offer players the opportunity to wreak havoc in 4K and 60fps, take advantage of reworked textures or even reduced loading times and the haptic feedback of the DualSense controller. Everything will be available on PlayStation Plus from May 4th. Players who are not subscribed to the Sony service, but who already have the PlayStation 4 version can also acquire this upgrade by paying € 9.99.
Resident Evil Village
Resident Evil, the master of survival horror will make his comeback on May 7 with an eighth episode entitled Resident Evil Village. This new adventure putting the player once again in the shoes of Ethan Winters (hero of Resident Evil VII) will invite you to explore a dark village in FPS view and face a horde of new monsters. Vampires, mermaids, werewolves, ghosts … all these strange entities will not hesitate to put a spade in your wheels when you cross this new playground. Also note that the title will be delivered with The Mercenaries, a arcade mode, and with Resident Evil Re: Verse, a multiplayer mode that will be available this summer.
Hood: Outlaws & Legends
On May 10, it will be Hood’s turn: Outlaws & Legends to debut on PlayStation 5. The title of Focus Home Interactive and Sumo Digital will offer you the opportunity to carry out finely conducted robberies in a medieval universe, notably by storming enemy fortresses in the company of other players. However, you and your friends are not alone in the field! Another team of players will try to steal the show from you while patrols controlled by AI (Artificial Intelligence) will keep watch. Before starting a game, players will of course have the choice between several character classes (Ranger, Hunter, Brawler, Mystic) with unique skills. To achieve your ends, therefore, it will be necessary to cooperate.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Wrath Of The Druids
We expected it in April, but in the end, the first major expansion freshly postponed for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will land on May 13th. Obviously, the program of this extension does not change, The Wrath of the Druids will allow players to visit new lands, namely Ireland, in the company of Eivor, your favorite Viking. On these new lands, the player will aim to “unravel the mysteries of an ancient and mysterious druidic cult” by going to explore haunted forests. As a reminder, this DLC is obviously included in the game’s Season Pass, but the latter can also be purchased individually when it is officially launched.
Mass Effect: Legendary Edition
In just a few days, on May 14, the inescapable Commander Shepard will make his comeback! Yes, the Mass Effect trilogy will be brought together in a Legendary Edition that does not cut corners. In addition to bringing together all the DLCs of these three excellent games, this playable edition in 4K offers players the opportunity to discover the galaxy in a new light: the textures as well as the different models have been reworked, the interface has been modernized and the gameplay, especially that of the first game, has been reviewed and corrected. Now aiming is more responsive, melee attacks are no longer automated, abilities have been balanced and a touch allows you to sprint.
