PS6 and Xbox successor: console release date already set

While the PS6 and Xbox Series X successor are yet to be released, Microsoft has unwittingly announced a release date for these consoles.

Hamburg. While it’s finally possible to buy a PS5 and Xbox Series X without being on a waiting list or having stress acne on your face, things are already changing around next-gen consoles. While market watchdogs are investigating Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, new details have surfaced about the upcoming Next Gen. Thus, Microsoft is already naming an approximate release date for the PS6 and the next Xbox. Even Nintendo indirectly confirms the successor to the Nintendo Switch.

PS6 and Xbox Series X successor: new consoles will still take years to release

What’s happened ? Microsoft wants to buy Activision Blizzard. Sony, Nintendo and other competitors do not approve of the $69 billion purchase and fear a new monopoly in the gaming market. That’s why they filed a complaint with the European Commission, the US Market Surveillance Authority and its UK counterpart, the CMA.

In recently released documents, Sony and Nintendo reveal some of the secrets that were exposed to prevent the Microsoft deal. Microsoft is also revealing secrets to be able to close the deal. If the takeover fails, there will even be talk of Microsoft selling the Xbox.

When will PS6 and Xbox Series X successor be released? While Sony is expected to launch the PS5 phase 2 soon, the console cycle at Microsoft appears to date back just under 8 years. Anyway, that’s what you can read in black and white in Microsoft’s response to the CMA. Here’s what it says: “Next generation consoles not expected before 2028.”

The release date for the next Xbox is information we’d probably prefer to keep quiet at Microsoft. Therefore, we will have to wait at least 5 years before we can get our hands on the PS6 and the next Xbox. But at present, it is more than doubtful that revealing one’s own secrets will ultimately lead to the desired acquisition. It appears that the Market Oversight Authority may still be terminating Microsoft’s deal with Activision Blizzard.

Will a Nintendo Switch successor be released? The investigation also talked about a Nintendo competitor that continues to make huge profits from its Nintendo Switch. The CMA document mentions a sequel to Nintendo Switch Online, Nintendo’s online subscription. It then reads: “The Nintendo Cloud Gaming service is only available for Nintendo Switch and [GESCHWÄRZT]. »

Behind the darkened hardware, a successor to the Nintendo Switch is expected as Nintendo Switch Online is currently available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. If a Switch successor were to see the light of day, it would likely be with Nintendo’s already established online offering.
